 Thievery Tips

  • The pickpocketing process can and will end prematurely if something cancels your sneaking (such as a different NPC walking up behind y'all) or if the NPC you are currently pickpocketing walks out of melee range.
  • Because NPCs will usually walk around (making information technology difficult to pickpocket them), it tin can be effective to have one of your characters talk to the NPC y'all want to pickpocket, then have your Thievery character sneak up behind and rob them while they are preoccupied.
  • Undead characters can utilise their bony fingers to pick locks. Picking a lock with an undead character does non require a lockpick and will not consume a lockpick.
  • It is possible to pickpocket usable items (such as nutrient/potions, grenades, elemental arrows, etc) off of enemies before a fight. This volition prevent those items from being used past them once you properly engage them in battle.
  • If an object that seems like it could be unlocked (such every bit a sarcophagus) says that it is "too heavy", information technology actually requires Strength to open, and not Thievery.
  • While virtually characters can be pickpocketed as long as yous have 1 level in thievery, some very specific characters tin can but be pickpocketed with X thievery level. For case, "requires thievery three to pickpocket this character".
  • While near locks/doors/gates/chests/etc in the game can exist opened with the right thievery level, some special ones cannot exist lockpicked no thing what.
  • You tin can utilize Smoke Comprehend to apace pickpocket people fifty-fifty while anybody is looking (Useful to rid guards of grenades/arrows, or to get a specific item or two). Bless the Smoke Cover (Grants invisibility) if you want more time stealing. Smoke is non commonly recommended as it disappears subsequently a few seconds and can leave the thief in a tight spot.
  • Pickpocket NPCs in crowded areas by talking to them with a grapheme and then teleporting that character away from anyone else. The NPC will walk over to that role player, who is now out of eyesight of anybody else in town, to tell them not to poof away when someone is talking to them. Yous can at present rob them blind in the condolement of a back alleyway.
  • Ane trick to steal multiple times from the same NPC is to hire a mercenary character, respec them into thieving and then throwing all your thieving equipment on them. You tin can then dismiss them and rent a different mercenary and repeat the aforementioned process.
